Last Sunday marked a major milestone for Making Waves as the first cohort of rowers & crews graduated into competitive rowing with entries at the All Schools Regatta 1!
The 2023 Australian Masters Rowing Championships are currently underway. Keep an eye out for our WA Masters State crews as they take on the competition at #AMRC23.
We are also thrilled to share the news that coastal rowing has made its way to the Rowing WA Head Races, opening up a whole new dimension of rowing experiences & introducing a refreshing twist to the traditional racing format.

Making Waves Rowers Celebrate Milestone at All-Schools Regatta #1
In an exciting development, Sunday, 28.05.2023 marked a major milestone for Making Waves as the first cohort of rowers & crews graduated into competitive rowing. The culmination of their hard work was showcased at the highly anticipated All-Schools #1 regatta at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre to the reception of some very excited parents & coaches.
They’ve ripped off the band-aid with this first regatta, & we look forward to seeing them progress in their future competitions!
Huge thank you to Coach Alec & Luke for supporting the kids on the day, & parents/guardians for coming on this journey with them!

2023 AMRC - On Now!
The highly anticipated 2023 Australian Masters Rowing Championships are currently underway, attracting seasoned rowers from across the nation. This prestigious event showcases the incredible skill & determination of masters rowers as they compete for glory on the water, setting the stage for thrilling races & unforgettable moments of sportsmanship.
There are a total of 53 WA Masters rowers competing at this year's AMRC. We wish them all the very best of luck!

Coastal Rowing Takes Centre Stage at RWA Head Races 2023
Rowing WA is thrilled to announce the introduction of Coastal Rowing events at their highly anticipated Head Races for 2023.
The Inaugural WA Coastal Rowing Event will take place on Sunday the 11th of June 2023 during the Mettam Head Race.
Ken Edwards from Edon Industries along with Vanessa Grant from Wintech will be providing some boats for this event, but if you have your own coastal boat you are welcome to enter.

Joely Patterson & Alysia Johnston Awarded Level 2 Coaching Scholarships
It is with great pleasure that we congratulate Joely Patterson & Alysia Johnston as the latest recipients of the Level 2 Coaching Scholarship.

Vale Jenny Beer
The rowing community in WA was deeply saddened to hear ot the passing of Jenny Beer, fondly known as mum of Swan River Rowing Club's Head Coach, Mark Beer. Her caring presence will be greatly missed, & the entire WA rowing community extends its heartfelt condolences to Mark Beer & the rest of Jenny's family during this difficult time.

President Rob Scott & Chief Executive Ian Robson reflect on the sport's resilience in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic & the anticipation surrounding the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games.

Have You Checked?
Are you involved in Child related work, or have volunteers of your organisation involved in child related roles? The WWC Screening Unit are encouraging all organisations to sight, validate & register the WWC Card of any new volunteer in child-related work, who already holds a card.
By registering details, an organisation can not only ensure that volunteers in child-related work have current WWC Cards, but also that the organisation is notified should a Negative Notice or Interim Negative Notice be issued.

The Swan River Rowing Club is thrilled to announce the winners of its highly anticipated photo competition, capturing the picturesque beauty of rowing on the iconic Swan River. After carefully evaluating numerous submissions, the judging panel has selected the top three photographs that truly encapsulate the spirit of the sport & the river.
All winners will be contacted by SRRC to receive their prizes.
