Celebrating International Women's Day | Twilight Row!

On Wednesday 8th March, we celebrated International Women's Day with a Twilight Row at Canning Bridge.

It was wonderful to have a real cross section of our community involved - from mother/daughter duos, to former elite athletes, to stalwarts of the club scene.

Rowers braved the choppy conditions to head out for a paddle before moving up to Swannies for a drink. Sarah Black (Rowing WA) spoke to touch on the importance of striving for action towards equality & some ideas about how to promote women in our community.

She encouraged everyone to keep celebrating each other's wins & supporting each other through challenging times, & to 'tap on the shoulder' the women in our community who we feel should be elevated to the next level of coaching or administrating.

We would like to thank Perth Rowing Club & Swan River Rowing Club for supporting this event!

We are so excited here at Rowing WA! The blazer samples arrived in the office last week & they look AMAZING!
