Racing Suspended on Day 5 of the Australian Rowing Championships!
As our West Aussie rowers know, weather at this time of the year can be quite "unpredictable" to say the least. This morning was like armageddon at the lake! Crews in morning's races came off the water battered & bruised from the rough conditions. What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger - right?
As it looked like Mother Nature was not going to take a break, the wise decision of suspending racing was made by RA. This gave everyone a few hours reprieve to catch their breath & get ready to go again while the powers-that-be upstairs reshuffled race schedules while keeping one eye on the conditions in order to ensure everyone's safety.
Shout out to EVERYONE today for the great work put in to keeping the event going safely, in challenging conditions.
Results for our WA rowers today saw Gold, Silver & Bronze medal placings along with progression for crews through to semi finals & finals in the last two days of racing.
Congratulations to all our amazing WA rowers. The last 5 days of racing have been phenominal and we are all incredibly proud of you!
