Beach Sprint Series – A Milestone for Rowing WA

The 2025 Beach Sprint Series marked an exciting first for Rowing WA as we ventured into the fast-paced and dynamic world of coastal rowing. Hosted at Leighton Beach, Coogee Beach, and Port Beach, this series brought a fresh challenge to both seasoned rowers and newcomers, testing their skills in unpredictable surf conditions.

As this was our first Beach Sprint Series, it was a learning experience for everyone involved—participants, coaches, and Rowing WA alike. While we faced challenges, such as navigating swimmer interference, variable beach conditions, and course setup logistics, these experiences have provided valuable insights to help us refine and improve future events.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Curtin University Boat Club for their incredible support in partnering with us to make this series possible. Their contribution was instrumental in delivering these events, and we deeply appreciate their commitment to growing coastal rowing in WA.

A special thank you also goes to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) and Lotterywest for their support in making this initiative a reality. Their funding and commitment to community sport have played a key role in bringing coastal rowing to Western Australia.

To all competitors, volunteers, and supporters—thank you for being part of this journey. Your feedback is invaluable, and we look forward to evolving the Beach Sprint Series into a staple of the WA rowing calendar.
