Rules of Racing – 2025 Updates

Background

The 2025 updates to the Rules of Racing have been developed to improve accessibility, clarity, and consistency across competitions. These changes are based on extensive consultations and reviews, particularly the findings of the Pennant Regatta Participation Working Group (RPWG).

Additionally, broader amendments to enhance the structure and usability of the rules. Key objectives include:

  • General Rule Cleanup – Updating or removing outdated provisions to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Streamlining Rules – Aligning with Rowing Australia’s rules where possible, reducing unnecessary variations.
  • Clarity and Accessibility – Redrafting rules to be more user-friendly and easily understood.
