Welcome to our new GM Operations

We welcome Nick Wakeford to the role of General Manager - Operations here at Rowing WA.

Nick was born in South Africa, where he rowed for his school and then the country as a Junior. He then moved to the UK where he rowed for the Nottingham Boat Club and Nottingham County Rowing Association (a High Performance Institute), and raced at Henley Royal Regatta. Nick is well known to the WA rowing community from his days at WARC where he was Captain and then Vice President of the club between 2013 and 2019. He has also made appearances in the WA Kings Cup, proving his chops as someone who knows the community inside and out!

Nick says -

"I'm delighted to take on the role of General Manager of Operations for RWA! Joining this dynamic and passionate rowing community is a genuine honour. I look forward to reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new members of our sport. I am filled with enthusiasm about the future of rowing in Western Australia. With your ongoing support and collaboration, I am confident that we can achieve great things."

Nick has settled in to the role now after commencing last week, and is reachable at gmoperations@rowingwa.asn.au. Nick is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Rowing WA and assisting our CEO Dan in delivering key strategic objectives.
