McIntyre & Morrison World-Beaters - Again!
Annabelle McIntyre OAM (FRC/HPNTC) and teammate Jessica Morrison OAM (Merc/HPNTC) have set a new World Best Time of 6:47.11 in the Women's Coxless Pair at the Holland Beker Regatta in the Netherlands.
McIntyre and Morrison, Tokyo Olympic Champions in the Women's Coxless Four, could not have wished for a stronger start to their 2023 international racing campaign, with their world record coming off the back of a Gold Medal at World Cup II last weekend.
Jess reported to Rowing Australia that the regatta was renowned for being on a fast course, and that they were "determined to race the clock and see how fast [they] could go". The previous WBT of 6:47.41 was set during the 2021 Tokyo Games by the NZ Pair of Prendergast & Gowler.
We look forward to seeing Annabelle & Jess take on the W2- field again at World Rowing Cup III (July 7 - 9) and World Rowing Championships (September 3-10).
