Further Easing of COVID Restrictions Announced

Published Wed 27 Apr 2022

Public health & social measures to ease from 12:01am, Friday 29 April.

The WA Government yesterday announced that the majority of remaining COVID restrictions will be eased as of 12:01am Friday 29 April 2022.

Although the existing restrictions were quite light for community sport, the upcoming changes will further reduce the covid management practices in place in boatsheds and at regattas.

The detailed set of measures being eased and still in place is available HERE.

In summary, from 12:01am Friday 29 April 2022:

  • Masks will no longer need to be worn in indoor areas of boatsheds, gyms, change rooms or meeting spaces. However masks are still encouraged where physical distancing isn’t possible.
  • Capacity limits for venues have all been removed
  • Close contacts with no symptoms are not required to isolate for 7 days but do need to follow some rules (see link above)
  • Close contacts should still notify their clubs/schools in case additional protocols are in place
  • Proof of vaccination no longer required in most locations. Current Mandatory workplace vaccination requirements will remain in place
  • COVID Safety and Event Plans are no longer mandatory but still encouraged.
