Act Belong Commit - Mental Health Week 2022
Published Fri 07 Oct 2022
This year in WA, Mental Health Week is being held over 8-15 October.
Next week why not do something, do something with someone or, do something meaningful!
In support of the 2022 Mental Health Week (8-15 October) theme ‘Mind. Body. Environment’ Act Belong Commit will be promoting the benefits of spending time in nature on mental health and wellbeing.
Research has shown spending time in nature, and being connected to nature, can improve wellbeing in many ways including:
- Improving cognitive skills – like memory and attention
- Improving mood.
- Reducing feelings of stress
We also know from research, connecting to nature can positively influence wellbeing regardless of how much time one spends outdoors and whether you spend time in ….green or blue (aquatic) environments or even in urban nature.
Act Belong Commit will be helping people to find nature-based activities to get involved in by actively promoting listings from their Activity Finder which connects people to nature.
