2022 PSA Head of the River
Published Wed 23 Feb 2022
2022 Head of the River Regatta
The 2022 Head of the River Regatta has been brought forward to this Saturday, 26th of February. This decision reflects the likely impact of COVID-19 on school communities over coming weeks and months.
To prioritise the safety of students, attendance at the venue is limited to participants, staff and officials, and immediate family. The event will be live streamed to provide quality vision of all races for the wider interested audience.

The Challenge Cup will be presented to the winning First VIII directly after the race.
The Hamer Cup results will be announced following the final race with the trophy being presented to the winning boatshed in their school area.
Racing will commence at 9am, with the Head of the River race scheduled for 11am.
Rowing Regattas following Head of the River
The final two regattas of the season will proceed on Saturday 12th March and Saturday 19th March.
Two new awards will be presented for the first time at the final regatta, these awards will recognise;
- The best performing First VIII across the season based on seeding points across the regattas
- The best performing boatshed across the season based on Hamer Cup points across the regattas
Beyond 2022, the intention is to present these two awards at the penultimate regatta prior to Head of the River recognising the efforts and performances across the season.
