2022 Coaching Scholarship Program

Rowing WA in conjunction with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries are excited to announce a new coaching scholarship program!
Rowing WA aims to provide support and access to development opportunities, higher level qualifications and accreditations for coaches in Western Australia.
We are offering up to 20 coaching scholarships to identify and support our current Level 1 coaches to achieve level 2 accreditation, receive coach mentoring and attend additional coach education and development opportunities.
The scholarships will focus on:
- Increasing the number of female level 2 coaches
- Supporting the development of coaches based outside of metropolitan Perth
- Increasing coaching knowledge related to all abilities rowers
- Pathway development for career coaches.
The scholarship aims to provide support to our next generation of coaches - particularly female coaching leaders - both in their professional development and the opportunity for them to be engaged and mentored in a practical coaching environment.
Eligibility:
- Be over the age of 18;
- Hold a current Level 1 Rowing Coach Accreditation
- An Australian citizen
- Deliver coaching or be seeking to deliver coaching within the Rowing WA community
Rowing WA is seeking expressions of interest from current Level 1 coaches that are seeking to develop and continue on a pathway in coaching.
If you are interested in applying for this scholarship and you meet the eligibility criteria, please send a short bio of why you are interested in applying for the scholarship, including goals and coaching aspirations. Include any supporting documentation from senior coaches you are currently working with.
Applications will be evaluated by WAIS Rowing Head Coach, Jamie Hewlett, WAIS Rowing Pathway Coach, Tom Gatti and Rowing WA Development & Operations Manager, Sarah Black.
Applications are now open.
Applications will remain open until all scholarship positions have been filled.
