Trinity College | First WA School to Make Medals Table!

Congratulations Trinity College! Today saw them make the medals table at the Australian Rowing Championships with the following results:

Jack Hansen-Knarhoi

  • 🥈Under 19 Men's Coxless Four
  • 🥉Under 17 Men's Single Scull

Well done on awesome results Jack! You have done your state & school proud.

Local pride was all around today at the Australian Rowing Championships as our schoolgirls & schoolboys battled it out on the water against their East Coast counter-parts. Highlight of the day was the Under 17 Women's Coxed Quad Scull with the Fremantle/Bunbury composite crew taking out the silver medal. Cox, Helena Hurworth (GGS), is the first GGS senior girl to medal at a national event. Coaches Keely Atchison & Cameron Fowler were all smiles as their girls came off the water & entered the presentation area after the race.

West Aussie pride in our rowers continued through out the day with crews taking out silver & bronze medals across events, including the Open Men's Quad Scull closing out the finals races for with silver!

Congratulations to all our amazing athletes - another cracker of a day on the water!

Tomorrow the focus is on the excitement of the interstate races, including the King's & Queen's cup events. These races are as close to an Olympic or Paralympic Games race that a rower could ever hope to experience.

The interstate regatta brings to an end the Australian Rowing Championships - no heats, no second chance repechages, no semi-finals or build-ups to the title race, just on opportunity to win!

Spectator crowds are expected to swell along the banks of Champion Lakes tomorrow with supporters wanting the best positon in order to cheer on their state. If you are keen to watch the racing from the comfort of your own home, tune in to the livestream HERE.

Rowing WA wishes our State Teams the very best of luck for tomorrow. We are all incredibly proud of you & know you will go the distance to represent us on the water!
