Become a Boat Race Official (BRO)
Are you interested in becoming a Boat Race Official (BRO) and being part of the action at rowing regattas? Whether you’re familiar with the sport or completely new to it, this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and support the rowing community.
Boat Race Officials play an essential role in ensuring the smooth running of regattas. There are various tasks suited to different skills and interests, so there’s something for everyone! Plus, as a volunteer, you'll be making a real difference while enjoying the thrill of the sport.
Rowing WA also offers an honorarium payment between $50–$200 per regatta (depending on the size and type of event).
This Session
- You will learn all about the main roles a BRO performs at regattas, including an overview of how to do them,
- You will learn how the BRO community works in WA, including how we help you learn through mentorship and on-the-job experience.
- You will learn about the structure of the BRO community here, Nationally and Internationally, and how the accreditation process works.
After This Sesson
- Once you've attended, you'll be on your way to becoming a Level 1 Boat Race Official!
- After this session you'll be able to pick some upcoming regattas where you'll head out with an experienced BRO and learn about how the different roles work in practicality, and develop some hands-on skills.
We look forward to seeing you there!
